Oregon, Washington growers trial new spud varieties

Growers in Washington and Oregon are trying their hands at growing new potato varieties, with hopes of receiving higher prices.

Among the candidates are the Rio Grande, a possible replacement for the Norkotah russett, and AmaRosa, a red-skinned, red-flshed variety.
